Spent most of the weekend making buttons and slapping together the HELLdiscs for Saturday's show. Had Saturday breakfest with Joshua and Michael to make sure everything was good for the trip to Houston. Got a Tetsujin 28 Goh CD from Bruce, that was nice.

Edited more clips. I want to show the Cromartie High School Movie Prevue, but I don't have english subs for it. Or a decent source. Tinkered with the Jonathan Bell clips, too. Made a DVD of TOUGHER THEN LEATHER after I went looking for it at Amazon. It's one of those New Line movies that hasn't made the jump to DVD yet, it seems. Can't find the War of the Worlds clips, gotta re-rip and edit them for the show.
I was thinking I could make copies of the Corn Pone Flicks DVDs as give aways at the show. Maybe have a raffle/door prize kind of thing. I'll talk to Bruce and Joshua and Michael about it.

Tarantula ATTACK! 11:25 AM
Woke to find Nub crying about something. He's upset about something on the wall, a BIG spider, about the size of a quarter, black, fat and hairy. Big enough that I could see it's fangs. I freak and grab a tupperware bowl to catch him in. It JUMPS at me when I bring the bowl up to the wall, luckily I catch him and put a lid on the tupperware. Then I call Ms Echo to find out if it's poisonious. Turns out to be a Tarantula. I let him loose in the yard to eat bugs, then I do an internet search to see what kinda Trantula it is. There are no spiders that big in Minnesota...

Nausicaa 2:46 PM
Last Saturday night they ran NAUSICAA on Cartoon Network (going against Cartoon Network's new policy to play LIVE ACTION movies and shows on a cable channel dedicated to animation. But that's another rant for another day.) and the new dub wasn't that bad. It was certainly better then the New Line dub and edit, which I kept being reminded of as I watched. Which is understandable because the New Line version of NAUSICAA was the first version I saw (repeatedly). I remember older anime fans who were insulted by the fact that I liked WARRIORS OF THE WIND, but that's all I had at the time. (And of course the elitist older fans who mocked me couldn't be bothered to share their copies off LD.)
Sorry about that digression.
One of the things that I noticed this Saturday was that sometimes in closeups Nausicaa looked sorta like a Matsumoto style influence to it.
I wonder why...

Watched DELETED MAGIC with Joshua, Michael and Brian on Friday. It's kinda neat to see Star Wars in this wierd cut up deconstructed way. Got alot of HELLstuff ripped and ready to burn to disc for the show on the 29th at Shikazecon. I'll be ready. And then some. Need to make some stickers and flyers...

Working on more flyers and such. There's a HELL, A Panel of DOOM and an OtakuHELL all this month plus a Midnight Madness. And right at the start of May is Central which I'm guessing is the biggest HELL of the year. It's kinda fun. Now if I was only paid to do it...

Shortly after I went to bed I'm jolted awake by the sound of something hitting the side of the house. I get up and turn on the backyard floodlights and find the neighbor's dog killing the possum. At first I thought it was a cat, images of Rajah being dashed against the house flashed in my mind...
