A Step Closer to the Sun 8:32 AM
I do not claim to have any taste. Well, that's not quite true. I am a snob. I'm the bastard who sneers at the trailers for the new Ron Howard movie or the next Adam Sandler comedy. In a world filled with crap we're only offered more and more crap to waste the hours until we die. Crap for consumption. Because the alternative is boredom. God forbid that you find yourself unentertained for a brief moment. So we fill the emptiness of our lives with poorly made movies built on misfired concepts designed will only the idea to seperate you from your money. Properties that you must pay for but you can never own.

Art Store Confidential 12:51 PM
With Bruce and Mundee gone to JAFAX I divided up the weekend between checking on the cats and watering Mundee's plants and watching cartoons on Boomerang and Nicktoons....And inking and drawing up comicstuff.
Sunday I ended up going to Asel Art for Pelikin Ink. I ended up buying a pencil sharpener and an electric eraser and some Pro White, too. I should've gotten an extra brush for the Pro White.
Looks like I won another Sima FX Ed/It on eBay on Sunday, too. We'll find out if this one works. I hope it does.
Ms Echo rescued some kittens, too. I'll post the photos soon.

Wool Gathering 12:44 PM
Bob Mould is singing Husker Du songs again according to Punk Planet. This news hits me right after I read about a Replacements reunion for Rhino. And I'm about a hundred and fifty days from turning forty. And the world won't end anytime soon. I can't start talking about life in past tense, not now, not yet.
Reading about Participatory Culture just makes me want to produce more and more. I just wish I could make some money off of it. But it's all a crapshoot out here...

Robert Anton Wilson: Maybe Logic 11:50 AM
Robert Anton Wilson: Maybe Logic
I found this on the recent releases page on Netflix, so I rented it. I wasn't disappointed.
Watch it in order or randomly pick out a chapter, like I did, and you get alot of thought provoking ideas and ideology straight from the mouth of Robert Anton Wilson to your ear. I had forgotten many of the bits about the limitations of language and our own personal virtuality. But it's all here and I recommend it to anybody and everybody...

HELLswag 8:49 PM
I wonder how many requests I'll get?
The PNG that I whipped together in Illustrator looks really good, too. And no anti-aliasing problems, either. Time to pull out some of my older attempts and try to make them into PNGs...

Ink and sweat and blood 11:32 AM
Rivers of it. I've got stacks of sketches and inks and oddends and I'm still adding to it all. I destroyed alot of my art a couple of years ago. Training wheel stuff. Stuff that wasn't me, at least it wasn't at that point in my curve. Not necessarily embarrassing stuff. But not quite. You know?
Where does it go where it came to?

All the time in the world 12:25 PM
There is much to be done. And yet I don't feel like doing anything much at all. It maybe the heat. Or my sour mood. It's frustrating. And maybe my frustration is to blame, too.

Never bored, need sleep 1:52 PM
Much to do, much to get done. Now that A-Kon is past I'm working on inking and comix and finishing up inks on Edstuff for publication. Much of the Edstuff has already been started, I just need to do some finishes and it'll be passed on to Bruce to tone and put into format.
And it's all good...

Fanbased 7:39 PM
I don't know what I'm doing right, but we packed Houston B Friday Night. I'm actually confused by the success of the show. But I'm happy about it.
Caught the con-flu and was sick Saturday. Hell, I'm still not feeling 100%...

The Occasion 10:27 AM
Tomorrow night I'll be spinning discs and fighting AV Gremlins at A-Kon. And having a damn good time. But right now it's all anxiety and agrivation. Still, Bob and Emily are in town and Jan made it in last night so everything seems special. It occurs to me that the first time I met Bob and Bruce was at A-Kon 3. It seems so long ago, and yet it really isn't...

Feeding the feed 11:41 AM
The 70s Dimension showed up in the mail. That, along with Elephant Parts, will be mined for this weekend's HELLshow. The prep work continues. Disc are burning and candy supplies have been procured. I'm actually having a pretty good time setting everything up. As it should be...

Pushing the ink around 2:23 PM
Spent most of the weekend burning discs for the A-Kon show. Went looking for bubble gum and tootsie rolls to throw at the crowd early saturday and didn't find any. Bruce suggested trying Super Saver.
Also spent a fair amount of time drawing and inking. I finished up 3 pages that I just need to scan and edit in deleter and they'll be ready to post and print. Still, that's not much. But it's a start.
Need to dig around and find good web comic set up for the Cheap Disposable Website. I guess we'll do that sometime this summer...
